Poster Presenter Guidelines

Use the official template and logos — do not create your own layout.
Dear Poster Presenters,
To keep our poster session consistent and professional, we have prepared an official A0 poster template that all presenters are asked to use as a guide. The template is a true A0 portrait sheet (841 × 1189 mm) — the standard size.
The poster follows a standard three-column academic layout. Conference branding, title, and author fields are pre-set at the top. The body is divided into nine clearly labelled sections, and a full-width Key Takeaway bar runs along the foot for your single headline message.
Each section contains grey italic prompt text as guidance. The AAAE and IFPRI logos are already embedded in the template — do not remove or resize them. High-resolution PNG versions of both logos are also available to download above if needed. Insert your figures, results table, and a QR code linking to your full paper, data, or slides. You may also add your institution's logo in an appropriate space on the poster.

Clarity Over Density
Short paragraphs and bullet points read far better than large blocks of text. Aim for content a visitor can absorb in 3–5 minutes.
Keep Text Large
Fonts are pre-set for A0 viewing — do not reduce them. All text should be readable from approximately two metres away.
Nail Your Key Takeaway
Your single sentence at the bottom should be readable from across the room — make it the one thing you want every visitor to remember.
Lead with Your Best Result
One strong, well-labelled chart beats three cluttered ones. Put your most important finding front and centre in the Results section.
Add a QR Code
Link to your paper, dataset, or slide summary. Test that the QR code works before you submit your final poster.
Add Your Institution Logo
Find an appropriate space in the poster for your institution or organisation's logo alongside the pre-placed AAAE and IFPRI logos.

Use the A0 Poster Template (PDF) button above. Open it in PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, or any software that supports PDF editing at A0 canvas size.
Fill In All Nine Sections
Replace all grey italic placeholder text with your own content. Insert your main chart or figure, a study-area map, and a results table into the marked boxes.
Complete the Author Block and Key Takeaway
Add all author names, departments, institutions, and countries at the top. Write your one-sentence Key Takeaway in the bar at the foot. Add a QR code and your contact details in the Acknowledgements block.
Export as PDF at Full A0 Size
Save your finished poster as a PDF at 841 × 1189 mm (A0) at 300 dpi. Ensure all fonts are embedded and logos are clearly visible. Your designer can assist with this step.

Send your final PDF to registrations@aaae-africa.org with the subject line: ACAE2026 Poster – [Your Full Name] – [Abstract ID]. You will receive confirmation from the Secretariat.
